Frequently Asked Questions — Elysian Survival AI
18 questions covering the system, knowledge base, pricing, privacy, and platform support.
About the System
4 questions- What is Elysian?
- Elysian is an AI-powered survival and military intelligence assistant that delivers field-grade answers drawn directly from verified military doctrine, survival manuals, and tactical operations guides. It combines retrieval-augmented generation (RAG) with a curated knowledge base so every answer is grounded in real source material — not generated from general web knowledge.
- What topics can I ask about?
- Elysian covers four primary domains: wilderness survival (shelter construction, water procurement, fire craft, signalling), land navigation (map reading, terrain association, dead reckoning, GPS-degraded operations), field medicine (TCCC phases, wound management, tourniquet application, airway control), and tactical operations (small-unit tactics, patrol planning, immediate action drills, threat assessment). Ask anything within these domains in plain language.
- How accurate are the answers?
- Every response is retrieved from the indexed source library, not generated from general knowledge. If the answer is not in the knowledge base, Elysian tells you clearly rather than fabricating a response. This makes it significantly more reliable than general-purpose AI for doctrine-specific questions. Source citations are included in every substantive answer.
- How is Elysian different from ChatGPT or other AI assistants?
- General-purpose AI models (ChatGPT, Gemini, etc.) generate responses from broad training data and frequently hallucinate specific doctrine details. Elysian is purpose-built: it retrieves answers from a curated military doctrine library, cites its sources, and refuses to answer outside its knowledge base rather than fabricating plausible-sounding but incorrect procedures.
Knowledge Base
2 questions- What knowledge sources does Elysian draw from?
- Elysian's knowledge base is built exclusively on verified doctrine and professional reference works: FM 21-76 (US Army Survival Manual), SAS Survival Handbook, TCCC Guidelines (CoTCCC, current edition), ATP 3-50.3, FM 3-05.70 (Special Forces Survival), NATO STANAG 2928, USMC SERE Manual, and WEMS/NOLS Wilderness First Aid protocols. No Wikipedia, no forums, no unverified sources.
- How often is the knowledge base updated?
- The knowledge base is updated when source doctrine is revised or when new verified reference works are added. TCCC guidelines, for example, are updated periodically by the Committee on Tactical Combat Casualty Care — Elysian tracks these revisions. All updates go through the same validation process as the original sources: manual review before any new content is embedded and deployed.
Access & Pricing
5 questions- Is it a subscription or a one-time payment?
- One-time payment. No subscriptions, no recurring charges, no query limits. A single payment gives you permanent access to the full system. If you request a refund within 3 days of purchase, it is processed automatically.
- What is the refund policy?
- Elysian offers a 3-day satisfaction guarantee. If you request a refund within 72 hours of purchase, it is processed automatically — no questions asked. Refund requests after 3 days are reviewed on a case-by-case basis. To request a refund, use the Cancel Account option in your account settings, which triggers the refund process automatically if you are within the eligible window.
- What platforms and devices is Elysian available on?
- Elysian is a web application accessible from any modern browser — Chrome, Firefox, Safari, and Edge are fully supported. It works on desktop, laptop, tablet, and mobile devices. No app installation is required. The interface is responsive and usable on small screens, though desktop is recommended for reviewing longer doctrine responses.
- Does Elysian work offline?
- Elysian is a web-based system that requires an internet connection to query the knowledge base and generate responses. It is optimised for use on any device with a browser — desktop, tablet, or mobile. An offline mode is not currently available.
- Are there plans for an offline or mobile app?
- An offline-capable version and a dedicated mobile application are on the product roadmap. The offline mode would allow a cached subset of the doctrine library to be queried without an internet connection — directly relevant to field use cases. No release date is committed. Join the mailing list from the homepage to be notified when this becomes available.
Privacy & Account
2 questions- What data does Elysian store about me?
- Elysian stores your account credentials (email, hashed password), purchase record, and conversation history within your session. Query text is not used for any AI training purposes and is not shared with third parties. Payment processing is handled entirely by Stripe — Elysian never stores card numbers or billing details. You can request account deletion at any time from your account settings.
- Can I share my account with others?
- Accounts are for individual use. Each account is tied to a single registered user and is not transferable. If multiple people in an organisation need access, separate accounts are required. There are no current multi-seat or team plans, though this is under consideration.
Important Notice
1 question- Is Elysian a replacement for professional military or medical training?
- No. Elysian is an intelligence and reference tool, not a substitute for certified training. It provides doctrine-accurate information to support learning, planning, and decision-making. In any real emergency, follow trained professionals and established protocols. Always verify critical procedures with qualified instructors.
